Graduated from UW with a journalism degree in 1997 and worked for the Casper Star-Tribune from 1996 to 2005. Around the beginning of 2004 I started bartending as well, which lasted for three (quite decadent and enjoyable) years. I fled the newspaper to work as communications director for the Wyoming Democratic Party in mid-2005 until April 2008, when I became executive director. Now Heaven help me!

School Story:

I suppose I could have been a little kinder to the ladies in the attendance office. Then again, it wouldn't have hurt them to be a little kinder to me.

Where else have you lived?

Worcester, Mass.; Laramie; Casper; Cheyenne; Forest Grove, Ore.

What's your favorite vacation?

My honeymoon on the Big Island of Hawaii. Before that, I don't remember when I've ever taken a "real" vacation.

What's your dream vacation?

How about seeing my Tennessee Titans win the Super Bowl in person? From a luxury box on the 50-yard-line.

How often do you get back to Sheridan, WY?

About once or twice a year.

I love Sheridan, but I don't think it works with our careers. So

What did you do right after high school?

Went to Worcester Polytechnic Institute (which, following KFC's lead, has officially changed its name to simply WPI) for college. That didn't work so well, so I retreated and switched to the University of Wyoming. Worked for the Casper Star-Tribune nine years, then the Wyoming Democratic Party for six. Moved to Oregon, studied computer science at Oregon State, and been working four years (as of 2018) as a software developer.

What are the high points of your life since high school?

Getting married and having two kids. Watching the Colorado Rockies clinch a World Series berth a month later. Attending the Democratic National Convention in Denver in 2008. Buying a new house right before our Christmas 2008 travel debacle. Not terribly interesting stuff, I'm afraid.

What's the farthest you've been from home?

Hawaii or Cancun. I think Hawaii's further away, and I don't care to look it up.

What is the hardest thing you have ever done?

Keeping myself out of campaign-finance prison for the three years I ran a state political party organization.

What's the oddest thing you have ever done?

By definition, the years I turned 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43 and 45 years old are all tied for first.

What is your current favorite t.v. show?

Lost. Or maybe ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown. I also like Scrubs and The Big Bang Theory.

What's your favorite book?

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig or else Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72.

Are you interested in going to the 20th class reunion for SHS?

I think I want to, but I'll have to see when the time gets closer.
